While Kenya has access to a smaller proportion of Lake Victoria’s marine resources compared to its neighbours. Yet, according to Letsema’s East Africa team, Kenya produced approximately 130,000 tons of freshwater fish, 30,000 tons less than local demand.
In this context, the potential exists for Kenya to harness their marine resources through strategic planning and implementation for the sustainable benefit of all its people, stimulating trade within the region.
